Samanta Duggal
Samanta began her journey as a dancer and performing artist in a renowned dance company, spending 15 years as a lead performer and teacher before transitioning into yoga in 2003. Her work integrates Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Krama, Yoga Therapy, Restorative, and Yin Yoga. In 2009, she founded Yoga Sutra in Mumbai, one of the city’s first boutique yoga studios.
She has held key roles in the wellness space, including serving as Wellness Programme Director at Swaswara, an eco-holistic yoga and Ayurveda retreat, where she trained teachers and helped design yoga and detox programmes. She has also worked with the Aman Group in Vietnam as a visiting practitioner and continues to collaborate with leading retreat centres such as Ulpotha in Sri Lanka, while curating and leading her own retreats internationally.
With over two decades of experience, Samanta has studied and integrated a wide range of healing modalities, including Osteopathic Thai Bodywork, Ayurvedic therapies, Sound Healing, and Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage. She is also trained in Craniosacral Therapy, Joint Manipulation, Movement Dysfunction Assessment, and Foot Reflexology (Wat Po, Thailand), and has specialized training in Ayurveda and Panchakarma from Kerala, including pregnancy and baby care.
Her work extends into corporate wellness, where she has developed programmes incorporating alignment-based asana, breathwork, Yoga Nidra, sound healing, and meditation for organizations such as DHL, VFS Global, Ajanta Pharma, and Barclays Bank.
Samanta studied Vedic Chanting at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai and continues her advanced studies. She is also certified in diet and nutrition through BFY Sports and Fitness.
Blending depth, precision, and warmth, Samanta’s teaching weaves together movement, breath, awareness, and subtle body practices, creating an experience that is both grounded and transformative. She teaches internationally across Europe, Africa, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, and is a valued teacher on Shri Gaia Institute yoga teacher trainings.
